Jamie Redknapp believes Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale would transform Manchester United into Premier League champions.

Bale has been linked with a potential exit at the Champions League holders this summer as Real Madrid look to sign AS Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe to bolster their attacking options.

Manchester United have been touted as a potential destination for the Wales international should Bale decide to call quits on his time in the Spanish capital.

Premier League champions Chelsea are also thought to be monitoring Bale’s situation at The Bernabeu as Antonio Conte looks to recruit additional signings ahead of the new season.

Bale scored 21 times in 33 games during his final season in the Premier League before a then world-record move to La Liga giants Real Madrid in 2013.

Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Redknapp believes Bale would instantly transform Manchester United into clear favourites to win the Premier League title.

“If it did [happen] I think we should just give Man United the trophy now because Gareth Bale would rip the Premier League apart,” Redknapp told Sky Sports News on Tuesday.

“I think that the way that he plays, in that team he’d be sensational.”

The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League table in their first season under Jose Mourinho but ended up with two trophies despite their poor top-flight form.

Manchester United were 3-2 winners against Southampton in the EFL Cup showpiece before the Red Devils eased to a 2-0 victory over Ajax in the Europa League final.
