Manchester United are “hopeful” that Ivan Perisic will become the club’s next signing this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Times, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the Red Devils are still keen to complete a move to sign the Croatian winger.

That’s despite the fact that the Red Devils have so far been unable to agree a fee with Inter Milan for the transfer of the 28-year-old winger.

Jose Mourinho is said to want to be keen to further bolster his attacking options this summer despite having already brought in Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

Perisic is one name who has been relentlessly linked with a move to Old Trafford and it seems as if the Red Devils are still aiming to get a deal done before the close of the transfer window.

The report in the Times comes after Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti recently underlined his desire to keep hold of Perisic for next season.

Manchester United are getting ready for a return to Champions League football next season after Mourinho led the Red Devils to Europa League glory in his first campaign at Old Trafford.
