Alan Shearer tips Jose Mourino to make fifth and sixth Man United signings
The Newcastle legend believes Manchester United will add one or two more signings to their squad ahead of transfer deadline day
Alan Shearer is backing Jose Mourinho to add more Manchester United signings to his squad before the close of the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have signed three players in the current market as Jose Mourinho looks to challenge for the Premier League title.
Manchester United have recruited Swedish defender Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica back in June.
The 20-time English champions managed to beat Chelsea to the signing of Romelu Lukaku in a £75m transfer from Everton.
The Red Devils have also signed Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic in a £40m switch to improve their midfield.
Manchester United won the EFL Cup and the Europa League in Mourinho’s first season in charge but finished in sixth place in the table.
Former Newcastle striker Shearer believes the Red Devils will add one or two more players to their squad before transfer deadline day.
“In Lukaku, Matic and centre-half Victor Lindelof, he has bought three more players to turn United into the team he wants them to be, and he is not finished yet – I think he is after one or two more this month as well,” Shearer told BBC Sport.
Manchester United have been linked with a deal to sign Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale in recent weeks.
Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic has been a long-term target for the Red Devils but the Serie A giants have proven tough negotiators.
