Insider reveals Man United have made decision about 21-year-old attacker
BBC reporter Simon Stone doesn't expect Manchester United to get rid of Anthony Martial in the summer transfer window
Manchester United will keep Anthony Martial despite interest from Inter Milan, according to BBC reporter Simon Stone.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to sign Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic in the summer transfer window but a deal has failed to materialise so far.
Manchester United, thought, have been unwilling to meet Inter Milan’s valuation of the 28-year-old winger, despite Jose Mourinho’s eagerness to sign Perisic.
The Serie A side are thought to be willing to consider a potential deal to sell the former Wolfsburg man to Manchester United if Martial is included in a potential deal.
However, the Red Devils are rumoured to be reluctant to allow the promising France international move to the San Siro.
BBC reporter Stone confirmed that the Europa League winners are prepared to stick with Martial and give the Frenchman another season to find his feet at Old Trafford.
“The conundrum they’ve got is that Inter keep coming back to them saying they’ll sell Persici but they want Martial back,” Stone told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Man United are still up in the air whether Martial will be the top player he looked like being when he came from Monaco or he is going to be a frustrating player like Depay.
“They’re coming down on the side of keeping Martial.”
Martial was a revelation in his first season at Manchester United after he scored 11 times in 49 games in all competitions following a 36m move from Monaco to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils won the EFL Cup and the Europa League in their first season under Mourinho.
