Anthony Martial has agreed to move to Inter Milan on loan as Manchester United edge closer to a deal to sign Ivan Perisic, according to reports in Italy.

Calciomercato, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that Manchester United are continuing to chase the Croatia international but Inter Milan are proving tough negotiators.

The same story claims that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reluctant to allow 21-year-old Martial to leave Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

According to the same article, the France international is open to the prospect of leaving the Europa League winners after his agent pushed to secure a move for the striker back in January.

Martial struggled under Mourinho last season following the Portuguese coach’s appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor.

The 21-year-old forward scored 11 times in 49 games in all competitions during his first season at Old Trafford following a £36m move from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in 2015.

Manchester United have signed Swedish defender Victor Lindelof, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic this summer.
