Gareth Bale is ready to accept an offer to sign for Manchester United from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Don Balon, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that Bale has told his Real Madrid team-mate Luka Modric that he is ready to quit The Bernabeu this summer.

Manchester United have long been linked with a potential move to bring Bale to Old Trafford, although it remains to be seen whether there is anything concrete behind the speculation.

Bale’s future at The Bernabeu has been called into question in recent days amid claims that Real Madrid could be willing to cash-in on the Welshman to fund a move to sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco.

The reports in Spain claim that Bale told Modric of his desire to leave Real Madrid via WhatsApp because he feels that his first-team place at the club could be under threat next season if they sign Mbappe.

The same article says that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is now ready to make an official move to try and bring Bale back to the Premier League.

Manchester United have made three signings so far this summer, after having tied up deals for Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic.
