Man United won’t pay £48m asking price for 28-year-old attacker, reveals insider
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol doesn't expect Manchester United to sign Ivan Perisic in a £48m deal
Kaveh Solhekol doesn’t expect Manchester United to spend £48m on Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
The Croatia international has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils throughout the summer transfer window so far.
However, Manchester United have been unable to get a deal over the line despite making a number of offers to sign the 28-year-old attacker.
Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid prompted Manchester United to forget about the Inter Milan star and focus their efforts on the Wales international.
But Manchester United boss Mourinho ruled out Bale moving to Old Trafford following their 2-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils are rumoured to have rekindled their interest in Perisic as Manchester United look to sign a wide player in the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol ruled out Manchester United paying £48m deal to sign the Croatia attacking midfielder this summer.
“One deal that has gone very quiet at the moment is Ivan Perisic,” Solhekol told Sky Sports News on Wednesday.
“Manchester United have been after him all summer and Inter Milan have been refusing to drop their £48m asking price. United think that is too much, so the stand-off continues.”
Manchester United lost 2-1 to Real Madrid on Tuesday night following goals from Isco and Casemiro in Macedonia before Romelu Lukaku halved the deficit.
The Red Devils have signed Swedish defender Victor Lindelof, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic in the summer transfer window.
