Insider delivers latest update on Man United’s bid to land fourth summer signing
Dharmesh Sheth says that it's looking increasingly unlikely that Manchester United will sign Ivan Perisic this summer
Manchester United are facing the prospect of not being able to complete a deal to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan this summer, according to journalist Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports News reporter is claiming that it is now unlikely that the Red Devils will be able to get a deal to bring the 28-year-old to Old Trafford over the line.
Manchester United have been regularly linked with a move to sign Perisic this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of his second season in charge.
But it would seem that with the transfer window dragging on, a move for Perisic to join Manchester United is looking less likely by the day.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Wednesday evening, Sheth delivered the latest update regarding Perisic’s proposed move to Old Trafford.
Sheth said: “It looks increasingly likely that Perisic will stay in Italy.
“We are told that there has been no contact between the clubs in the last few days and Inter coach Spaletti said last week the long it goes on, the harder he will say ‘no’.”
Manchester United completed their third signing of the summer on Monday when they tied up a deal to land Nemanja Matic from Chelsea.
The Red Devils have also signed Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku this summer as they prepare for Mourinho’s second campaign at Old Trafford.
Manchester United kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against West Ham later this month.
