Gary Neville praised Manchester United’s all-round performance after they kicked off their Premier League campaign with a thumping 4-0 win over West Ham United at Old Trafford.

New signing Romelu Lukaku scored twice to put Jose Mourinho’s men in control, before late goals from Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial wrapped up the three points for the Red Devils.

The win lifted Manchester United to the top of the Premier League table on goal difference after the first round of fixtures in the top flight.

And former Manchester United defender Neville was clearly impressed by what he saw from Mourinho’s men in their opener against the Hammers.

Speaking during Sky Sports’ coverage of the game, Neville said: “It’s only the first game of the Premier League season for Manchester United, but they do look strong, they do look powerful, they do look like they’re in control.

“It certainly looks more like a Jose Mourinho team.”

Manchester United will now turn their attentions towards preparing for their next Premier League game – a trip to the Liberty Stadium to take on Swansea City on Saturday lunchtime.

The Red Devils will be hoping to enjoy an improvement in form in the Premier League this season after they slumped to a disappointing sixth-placed finish under Mourinho last term.

Lukaku is one of three summer signings at Old Trafford, with Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof also joining the Red Devils.
