Chelsea signing Alvaro Morata looks to forget about a disappointing weekend for the champions after a 3-2 loss to Burnley on Saturday
Alvaro Morata explored London with his new wife Alice on Monday as the Chelsea signing looked to forget about their 3-2 loss to Burnley.
The Spain international moved to Chelsea in a £58m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid last month to bolster Antonio Conte’s attacking options.
Morata was rumoured to be the west London side’s second-choice signing after Manchester United managed to complete a £75m deal for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
The 24-year-old opened his account with a second-half header after the striker came off the bench to give the reigning champions temporary hope of a comeback.
Nine man Chelsea lost 3-2 to Burnley at Stamford Bridge after goals from Sam Vokes and Stephen Ward put the visitors in command at Stamford Bridge.
Morata, though, looked in good spirits with his new Italian wife Alice as the Chelsea striker posted the above selfie on his Instagram page.
The Chelsea signing wrote the following caption: “Free day with the love of my life! ❤️#hydepark #london”
Morata scored 15 goals in 26 games in La Liga last season but the striker struggled to secure a regular first-team place.
The Spanish forward moved to Real Madrid from Serie A giants Juventus in a £29m deal last summer.
