Paul Merson states his prediction for Swansea v Man United
Paul Merson is tipping Manchester United to continue their strong start to the season by beating Swansea City 2-0 on Saturday
Paul Merson is tipping Manchester United to continue their strong start to the season by claiming a 2-0 victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.
The Red Devils kicked off their season in style by beating West Ham United 4-0 in their Premier League opener at Old Trafford last weekend.
Two goals from summer signing Romelu Lukaku and strikes from Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba wrapped up an impressive victory for Jose Mourinho’s men.
The Red Devils are now preparing for their first away game of the season as they look to continue their strong start to the campaign under Mourinho.
And former Arsenal star Merson is fully expecting to see Manchester United claim all three points when they take on the Swans on Saturday in the early kick-off.
Merson wrote in his column for Sky Sports: “Swansea got a result at Southampton but they weren’t great.
“Manchester United didn’t really do anything for the first 30 minutes against West Ham, but then they scored the first goal and West Ham collapsed.
“Having the Gylfi Sigurdsson deal sorted should help Swansea, but now they have to replace him.
“I know he hasn’t been playing but it has dragged on. I think Manchester United will have too much for them and will make it two wins from two.”
Manchester United are looking to improve on their disappointing sixth-placed finish in the Premier League this season.
The Red Devils did secure a return to the Champions League, however, by winning the Europa League in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge at the club last term.
Manchester United also won the EFL Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge.
