Paul Merson is tipping Tottenham to bounce back to winning ways by beating Burnley 3-0 at Wembley in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The north London side head into the game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to Chelsea at Wembley last weekend.

Spurs managed to claw themselves back into the game in front of their home fans, only for Marcos Alonso to fire home late on and secure the three points for Antonio Conte’s men.

Tottenham, who are playing their home games at Wembley this season while White Hart Lane is redeveloped, will now take on Burnley in front of their home fans on Sunday.

And despite last weekend’s setback, former Arsenal star Merson is tipping the Lilywhites to return to winning ways against Burnley, who have already won at Chelsea this season.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said: “This is a big game for Tottenham to overcome that Wembley hoodoo that’s currently around the club.

“But they showed enough going forward against Chelsea and I think they will turn the corner.

“Harry Kane’s hit the post twice so far, I fancy him to score for the first time in August in a routine Spurs win.”

Tottenham are preparing for a return to the group stage of the Champions League next month after their second placed finish last term.

The Lilywhites will take on Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Apoel in Europe’s elite club competition as they look to make it through to the last 16 in the new year.
