Antonio Conte sends warning to Chelsea’s title rivals about 26-year-old midfielder
The Chelsea boss warns their title rivals that N'Golo Kante is improving further

Antonio Conte has warned Chelsea’s title rivals that N’Golo Kante is getting even better following his match-winning performance in a 2-1 win at Leicester City.
The defending Premier League champions were 2-1 winners against Kante’s former club Leicester on Saturday afternoon thanks to goals from Alvaro Morata and the French midfielder.
The defensive midfielder was part of the Foxes team that won the Premier League title in 2016 before Kante completed a £30m move to Chelsea in last summer’s transfer window.
The former Caen star helped to transform Chelsea into Premier League champions with a series of influential performances in the Blues team throughout the 2016-17 campaign.
Kante was named PFA Premier League player of the year for his performances throughout their title-winning campaign.
Chelsea lost 3-2 to Burnley in their first game of the new season but the defending champions have won their last three top-flight fixtures to get their title challenge back on track.
And Conte warned Chelsea’s title rivals that Kante is getting even better in his second season at Stamford Bridge.
“It was an amazing performance and he played a fantastic game,” Conte told his post-match news conference.
“He scored but he made a lot of good runs and I think N’Golo is a top player.
“He is always improving because I think now he is also very good with the ball.”
Chelsea have won the Premier League title twice in the past three seasons.
The Blues lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.
