Mark Lawrenson is backing Arsenal to claim a 2-0 win over Bournemouth at The Emirates in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Gunners head into the game desperately looking to return to winning ways after their 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool before the international break.

Arsenal have only won one game so far this season after also losing to Stoke City earlier in the campaign.

Former Liverpool man Lawrenson is tipping the Gunners to get their campaign back on track by beating the Cherries at The Emirates this weekend.

But he has warned Arsene Wenger that victory would only mean “papering over the cracks” at The Emirates.

Lawrenson wrote in his column for BBC Sport: “I do think they will beat Bournemouth, but I am afraid to say that, if they do, they will just be papering over the cracks.

“The Cherries have issues too, of course – they are still waiting to get off the mark this season after their last-gasp defeat at the hands of Manchester City in their last match.

“They played well in that game, and have not struggled to create chances in any of their matches so far. I do not look at them and see a team that is going to struggle. They will start picking points up soon.”

Arsenal are aiming to bounce back from their fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last season as they look to challenge for the title.

The Gunners have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
