Thierry Henry reacts to Arsenal’s draw at Chelsea
Thierry Henry delivers his verdict after Arsenal's goalless draw with Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday
Thierry Henry praised Arsenal for producing a much-improved all-round performance as they secured a goalless draw with Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
Arsenal were much more solid than they have been in recent away games as Arsene Wenger’s men more than held their own against the Blues at Stamford Bridge.
The Gunners had lost their previous two away games to Stoke City and Liverpool but showed some of the resilience and organisation they were accused of lacking on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal had a goal rightly disallowed for offside in the second half when Shkodran Mustafi headed home, and Chelsea were reduced to 10 men late on when David Luiz was shown a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on Sead Kolasinac.
Henry was impressed by Arsenal’s improved display but called on Wenger’s men to produce similar performances in the games to come.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Henry said: “It wasn’t difficult for them [Arsenal] to be better than what they were at Liverpool.
“In terms of performance, this [should be the] standard in terms of what you need to do away from home.
“Yes, it was way better. Yes, they got a point. Yes, Aaron Ramsey was better. But the team defended better.
“The wingers were tucking in and helping the guys, and the three at the back were better because the job in front of them was done.
“Everything was better today.”
Arsenal return to Premier League action with a home clash against West Brom on Monday week.
Chelsea, meanwhile, will aim to get back to winning ways when they travel to Stoke City next Saturday afternoon.
