Arsene Wenger ‘praying’ about Arsenal star Jack Wilshere
Arsene Wenger admits he is praying that Jack Wilshere's Arsenal career is not hampered by any more serious injuries

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is “praying” that Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is not hampered by any more serious injuries in his career.
The England midfielder produced a strong display for Wenger’s side on Thursday night as Arsenal secured a 4-2 victory over BATE Borisov in the Europa League group stage.
Wilshere is aiming to break back into the first team at Arsenal after having struggled with serious injuries in recent years and being shipped out on loan to Bournemouth last season.
Wenger was thrilled by the performance Wilshere produced on Thursday night and he is hoping that he will be able to continue his good form as the season progresses.
Speaking at his post-match news conference in Belarus, Wenger said of Wilshere: “He had an outstanding first half and he fought until the end.
“He is on a good way back to his best and he showed that tonight. He is at an age where a player usually gets to the best of his career.
“He has been stopped by a series of injuries, I just pray that he is not hampered any more. He has shown tonight he has not lost his quality.”
Wilshere will be hoping that he will have earned a place in the starting line-up for the Gunners when they host Brighton and Hove Albion at The Emirates on Sunday lunchtime.
The north London side head into the game on the back of their 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion in their most recent outing last Monday night.
The Gunners are currently seventh in the Premier League table and six points behind leaders Manchester City after six games of the new campaign.
