Thierry Henry identifies one area where Arsenal signing Alexandre Lacazette needs to improve
The Arsenal legend explains where Alexandre Lacazette needs to improve ahead of the new season
Thierry Henry says Alexandre Lacazette needs to improve his finishing away from home after the Arsenal striker scored in a 2-0 win against West Brom at The Emirates on Monday night.
The France international moved to Arsenal in a club-record £52m deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon in the summer transfer window to bolster Arsene Wenger’s attacking options for the 2017-18 season.
Lacazette scored 100 goals in 201 appearances in all competitions in Ligue 1 to attract interest from Arsenal before his record move but has struggled to translate his form to international level.
The 26-year-old has already scored against Leicester City, Bournemouth and West Brom in the Premier League so far but all the striker’s goals have come at the Emirates Stadium.
Lacazette scored either side of half-time in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Tony Pulis’ West Brom side on Monday night to continue his excellent record at The Emirates.
Former Arsenal striker Henry explained how Lacazette needs to improve after a promising start to his Gunners career.
“He’s getting used to playing away from home,” Henry told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.
“That’s his little thing at the minute where maybe he’s not quite there yet when they play away from home, like the team by the way. But at home he’s been pretty good.”
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season to miss out on a place in the Champions League for the 2017-18 campaign.
The Gunners won their third FA Cup crown in four seasons.
