Arsene Wenger sends message to Arsenal fans about Jack Wilshere’s fitness
The Arsenal manager provides an update on Jack Wilshere's fitness

Arsene Wenger says Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is close to a return to full fitness.
The Gunners midfielder returned to Arsene Wenger’s squad at the start of the 2017-18 season following his loan spell at Bournemouth.
Wilshere failed to make a big impression at the Cherries and Bournemouth didn’t make the England international’s switch permanent.
The 25-year-old made his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt in over 12 months as a second-half substitute in the north London side’s 3-1 win against Cologne.
Wilshere was prasied for his impact from the bench as he helped Arsenal to ease to a comfortable Europa League win at the Emirates Stadium.
The midfielder has scored 12 goals in 190 appearances during a nine-year career at the north London side after coming through the ranks at Arsenal.
Speaking at his media conference ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Doncaster in the League Cup third round on Wednesday night, Wenger said of Wilshere:
“Jack has been consistent in training. If you ask me is he back to his full, 100 per cent potential, I would say no, but he’s not far away.
“The rest now can only be gained by competition. He is focused, he is working hard and he is absolutely determined to get his place back in the team.
“There is a big fight there and that’s what we want.”
Arsenal played out a goalless draw with Premier League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Gunners have won two of their opening five Premier League games to leave them off the pace in the title race.
The north London side signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac in the summer transfer window.
