Alexandre Lacazette is backing Reiss Nelson to develop into a top player for Arsenal in the coming seasons.
The 17-year-old has emerged as one of the Gunners’ most exciting young prospects as he looks to break into the first team under Arsene Wenger at The Emirates.
Lacazette has already got his first taste of training with the teenager and the summer signing admits that he has been very impressed by what he has seen from the youngster since his arrival at Arsenal.
French striker Lacazette told Arsenal Player this week: “I think Reiss is very good.
“I believe he will be a top player for the club. He already impressed me during pre-season and it’s great to see what he’s been doing for the Under-23s.
“His stats are very good and he’s been performing well. When he’s played with us, he’s shown that he has real quality.”
Lacazette joined Arsenal from French side Lyon in a club-record transfer deal back in July as Wenger moved quickly to bolster his attacking options.
The 26-year-old has made a strong start to life in the Premier League with the Gunners, after having hit two goals in five Premier League games for the north London side.
He will be hoping to start for Arsenal when they host West Bromwich Albion at The Emirates in their next Premier League game on Monday night.
The north London side, who finished fifth last term, are currently in 12th place in the Premier League table after having taken seven points from their opening five games.
