Gary Neville believes that Arsenal supporters should be pleased by the improved performance they produced during their goalless draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The north London side were heavily criticised for their 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool before the international break as they were thoroughly outplayed by Jurgen Klopp’s men.

However, the Gunners have since responded by beating Bournemouth at home, before playing out a deserved draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as they earned a point from their trip to west London.

Arsenal were much tighter in midfield and managed to keep Chelsea at bay as they had a couple of chances to win the game against the Blues.

And former Manchester United defender Neville feels that Arsenal showed significant progress against Chelsea and that it should give Gunners fans some hope of better things to come.

“The evidence over the last two-and-a-half years is that Arsenal will give you space to get on the ball,” Neville said, speaking on Sky Sports after Arsenal’s draw with Chelsea on Sunday.

“It was Arsenal’s change that I think perhaps caught Chelsea out.

“It’s definitely progress from Arsenal. It was good.”

Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.

Arsene Wenger’s men return to Premier League action with a home clash against West Brom next week at The Emirates in the Monday Night Football.
