Paul Merson predicts where Arsenal will finish this season after deadline day
Paul Merson reflects on Arsenal's summer transfer business and says the Gunners will probably miss out on the top four

Paul Merson admits that he is not expecting to see Arsenal finish in the top four this season.
The north London side have made a stuttering start to the new Premier League season after having lost two of their opening three games to leave them in 16th place in the table.
Arsenal only made two major signings in the summer transfer window as they tied up early deals for Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.
The Gunners also decided to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool in a deal reported to be worth around £35m on deadline day.
Alexis Sanchez’s future was a source of speculation throughout the summer as he was linked with a transfer away from the north London club.
But Arsenal opted to keep hold of the 28-year-old attacker, who has less than 12 months left on his current contract at The Emirates.
And former Arsenal star Merson says he would have sold Sanchez to cash in on the Chile international on deadline day.
Merson told Sky Sports: “I’d have sold Alexis Sanchez all day long.
“I doubt they’ll get in the top four and they’ll lose the £50m they would have got for him when he leaves for free.
“I think £35m for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is good money, but if they’re letting him go then why not let Sanchez go as well?”
Arsenal will look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they return to action with a home clash against Bournemouth at The Emirates on Saturday 9 September.
