Arsene Wenger confirms that Arsenal will make a new bid to sign Thomas Lemar in the future

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will try again to bring Thomas Lemar to Arsenal in the future.
The north London club were heavily linked with a move to sign the French midfielder from Monaco throughout the summer transfer window but a move for Lemar failed to materialise.
Arsenal were thought to have tabled a big-money bid to sign Lemar on transfer deadline day as Wenger looked to add some much-needed firepower to his squad.
Wenger confirmed that Arsenal did indeed make a €100m bid for Lemar last Thursday and then revealed that he still wants to bring the 21-year-old to The Emirates.
Speaking on Telefoot in France over the weekend, Wenger said: “Yes, we bid 100m euros for Lemar but the player wanted to stay in Monaco.”
Wenger added: “Yes, we’ll come back in for him.”
Arsenal ended up only signing two new players in the summer transfer window after concluding deals for Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac.
The north London side return to Premier League action after the international break with a home clash against Bournemouth at The Emirates.
Arsenal are bidding to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of their 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.
The Gunners finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season, before Wenger signed a new two-year contract to keep him at the club until 2019.
