Arsenal to sign 21-year-old on £250,000-a-week deal in January – report
Arsenal will push ahead with a £92m bid to try and sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco in January, say reports
Arsenal are confident of signing Thomas Lemar from Monaco on a £250,000-a-week contract in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Star is reporting that a deal with Monaco has been “agreed in principle” to bring the 21-year-old France international to The Emirates in the new year.
Arsenal failed to sign Lemar in the summer transfer window despite having been heavily linked with a late swoop to land the attacker.
Now, the same story in the Daily Star is claiming that Arsenal are confident of being able to sign Lemar in what would be a club-record £92m deal next year.
The report also claims that the deal does not hinge on Arsenal cashing in on Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window.
The same story also suggests that Arsenal boss Wenger has not completely given up hope of Sanchez signing a new contract with the north London side.
The article also claims that Arsenal passed up the opportunity to sign Lemar for around £60m earlier in the summer, before trying to conclude a late big-money deal to land the attacking midfielder.
