Charlie Nicholas is tipping Arsenal to ease to a 3-1 win against BATE Borisov in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Gunners are unbeaten in September so far after Arsenal finished August with a humiliating 4-0 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield.

The north London side were 3-1 winners against Bundesliga club Cologne in their Europa League opener to register their first-ever victory in the competition.

Arsenal’s record on the road does raise questions in the 2017-18 season so far following a 1-0 loss at Stoke City and a 4-0 defeat at Liverpool.

However, the north London side battled to a credible goalless draw with defending Premier League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their last away game.

Arsene Wenger is being tipped to start with England international Jack Wilshere and France striker Olivier Giroud at BATE Borisov on Thursday night.

Former Arsenal midfielder Nicholas is backing the Gunners to ease to an emphatic win against their Europa League opponents.

“Well, Arsenal are going to have a strong team because I imagine Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere are going to get a good run out again,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.

“I think a decent bit of momentum is building with a few good results racked up thanks to some solid defensive performances.

“This is where the healthy competition really starts to shine through. Players don’t mind battling for their places when the team is winning and the attitude should be positive.

“Arsene Wenger has good options to rotate and I’d be looking at them to win by a couple of goals here, with a few different names getting themselves on the scoresheet.”

Arsenal are in seventh place in the Premier League table following their 2-0 win against West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.

The Gunners signed Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in a club-record £52m deal in the summer transfer window.

Wenger also signed Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac in a free transfer from Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04.
