Gary Lineker reacts to N’Golo Kante’s display in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Leicester
The Spurs legend delivers his verdict on N'Golo Kante's goal in Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Leicester City
Gary Lineker admitted that it was depressing to see N’Golo Kante score against Leicester City as Chelsea were 2-1 winners at King Power Stadium.
The Premier League champions made the trip to Leicester looking to secure a third successive top-flight victory.
Chelsea signed Kante in a £30m deal from Leicester back in the 2016 summer transfer window before the defensive midfielder helped the Blues to win the title last term.
Kante was named the PFA player of the year following his impressive performances in the Chelsea side to help Antonio Conte lift the top-flight crown.
The Blues made the breakthrough in the 41st minute at the King Power Stadium thanks to Alvaro Morata’s third goal for the west London club.
Chelsea extended their lead in the second half thanks to a rare goal from Kante against his former club Leicester to seal three points despite Jamie Vardy’s late penalty.
Former Leicester and Tottenham striker Lineker was frustrated to see the France international score against the Foxes in Saturday’s Premier League fixture.
Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Kante has scored against Leicester. How fucking depressing.”
Chelsea won the title with two games to spare last term to lift the Premier League crown for the second time in three seasons.
