Michy Batshuayi sends ‘special thanks’ to Eden Hazard after Chelsea’s 5-1 win over Nottingham Forest
The Chelsea striker was pleased to have the number 10 pulling the strings and teeing up two of his goals in a 5-1 win against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night

Michy Batshuayi paid credit to Eden Hazard on Wednesday night after the Chelsea striker scored his first hat-trick for the club in a 5-1 victory over Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium striker has found his first-team opportunities limited this season following the addition of Alvaro Morata to the Chelsea squad in a £58m deal from Real Madrid.
Batshuayi struggled in Chelsea’s loss to Arsenal in the Community Shield before another underwhelming performance in a 3-2 defeat by Burnley on the opening day of the season.
The 23-year-old scored twice in Chelsea’s 6-0 win against Qarabag to make a point to Conte that he is ready and available should Morata’s impressive start falter.
And Batshuayi scored his first Chelsea hat-trick on Wednesday night as the former Marseille striker was teed up on two occasions by Hazard, who was making his first start of the 2017-18 season.
The Chelsea striker was clearly grateful to have his compatriot back in the Blues team to help create more chances for the Belgium centre-forward.
Batshuayi wrote on Twitter:
“Very happy with my first ⚽️⚽️⚽️ for @ChelseaFC 😍💙 working hard for this everyday ✊🏾 great team work again !! special thx to @hazardeden10 🎁🎀”
The Chelsea striker has now scored four goals in six appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Batshuayi moved to Chelsea in a £33m deal from Marseille.
