Frank Lampard believes Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is capable of reaching the same levels as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Belgium international came off the bench to help the Blues secure a 6-0 victory over Qarabag in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Hazard made his first appearance since breaking his right ankle on international duty back in May at the King Power Stadium last weekend.

The 26-year-old replaced Cesc Fabregas for the final 12 minutes of Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City.

Hazard has played a key role in helping Chelsea to win the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

Lampard won the Europa League alongside Hazard during the number 10’s first season at Stamford Bridge in 2012-13.

And Chelsea’s record goal-scorer suggested that there is even more to come from the former Lille midfielder.

“Hazard on his day has the magic. We talk about Messi and Ronaldo. He is getting towards that level,” Lampard told BT Sport on Tuesday night.

Chelsea lost 3-2 to Burnley in their opening Premier League game of their title defence last month.

However, the west London side registered victories over Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Leicester City to get their season back on track.

Chelsea signed seven players in the summer transfer window following their Premier League title success.
