N’Golo Kante has expressed his delight at being able to line up with Danny Drinkwater at Chelsea for the second time in his career this season.

The England midfielder became the west London side’s final signing of the summer transfer window last month as Antonio Conte added some further depth to his squad in midfield.

Drinkwater and Kante played together in midfield for Leicester City as the Foxes stunned the world and won the Premier League title under Claudio Ranieri in the 2015-16 campaign.

Kante moved to Chelsea last summer and has now been joined at Stamford Bridge by his former Foxes team-mate.

And the French midfielder admits that he was delighted to see the England international move to Stamford Bridge late on transfer deadline day last month.

Kante told the Daily Express: “I hope it could be something like Leicester – or even more.

“We had a special year together there, to win the league. It wasn’t expected.

“I really enjoyed the season I spent with him and I am happy to play with him again.”

Kante will be hoping to start for Chelsea when the Blues host Arsenal in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The west London side, who won the title last season, head into the game after having won their last three Premier League matches on the spin, and fresh from their 6-0 thrashing of Qarabag in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
