Antonio Conte: My message to Chelsea fans about Kenedy
Antonio Conte reflects on Kenedy's performance for Chelsea in the 5-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night

Antonio Conte has admitted that he was impressed by Kenedy’s performance for Chelsea in their League Cup win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
The Brazilian opened the scoring for the Blues to add to Michy Batshuayi’s hat-trick and Charly Musonda’s strike as the west London side secured a thumping 5-1 win in front of their home fans.
It was Kenedy’s first appearance for Chelsea since being sent home from the club’s pre-season tour of China in disgrace after his antics on social media.
And the Chelsea manager appeared to be pleased with how the Brazilian responded to his situation with a good performance on Wednesday night.
Speaking at his post-match news conference, Conte said: “Kenedy played very well and gave a good answer.
“Some players haven’t played a lot and it’s important to continue to work. I hope the game improved their confidence and they must continue in this way.
“We started to work with Kenedy last January after his loan spell at Watford. He’s working very well and improving. He has to continue and when there is an opportunity he must take it.”
Chelsea will look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon when they take on Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.
The Blues, who won the title in Conte’s first campaign in charge last term, were held to a goalless draw by Arsenal at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
The west London side, who are currently third in the table, will then switch their attentions back to the Champions League and their crunch clash with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night in Spain.
