Graeme Le Saux has warned Chelsea that Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero will be Manchester City’s biggest threats at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

The Blues will host the Premier League leaders in Saturday’s late kick-off in west London as Antonio Conte’s side look to move level on points with the Citizens.

The defending champions are three points adrift of Manchester City after losing 3-2 to Burnley in their opening Premier League game at Stamford Bridge last month.

Aguero has already scored six goals in six games and the Argentina international needs to net one more time to become Manchester City’s record goal-scorer.

De Bruyne, meanwhile, has made three assists in six Premier League outings, which probably isn’t reflective of how dominant the Belgian midfielder has been this term.

Former Chelsea defender Le Saux believes the Blues will need to tame Aguero and De Bruyne if the reigning champions are to secure victory at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

“I think when you look at City’s creativity I think you could name probably five players that you need to watch out for,” Le Saux told Betfair.

“Because if you keep one of them quiet then you’ve still got to look after the other four.

“Kevin de Bruyne for me is a tremendous talent, a world-class player. He plays with a grace and intelligence; he understands when to dribble, when to pass, what’s behind him, what’s to the side of him, he links play up very well. Him and David Silva really do have a nice partnership.”

Le Saux added: “I think when you’re looking at one player in specific other than him, it’s got to be Agüero.

“I think his goal scoring is quite remarkable and he is a player that thrives on pressure. He thrives on dealing with difficult situations and making them look very easy. And he is clinical.

“And when you have somebody like that in your side and around the other players, I just think that they’re people that you feel you can
achieve anything with because they’re so good.”

Chelsea won the Premier League with two games to spare last season as Manchester City could only muster a third-place finish.

The Blues signed six players in the summer transfer window to bolster their squad ahead of a return to the Champions League.

Graeme Le Saux was speaking on behalf of TAG Heuer to promote the TAG Heuer Premier League Pressure Test. TAG Heuer is the Official Timekeeping Partner of the Premier League.
