Frank Lampard believes that there is a lot more to come from Alvaro Morata this season in a Chelsea shirt despite his strong start to life in England.

The 24-year-old forward ended up being Chelsea’s marquee signing in the summer transfer window as Antonio Conte moved to bolster his attacking options and brought him in from Real Madrid.

Morata has made a superb start to his Chelsea career and has scored six goals in six Premier League games to help the Blues up to second place in the table.

The striker also opened his Champions League account for the west London side on Wednesday night when he netted the equaliser in their 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid.

Lampard has been hugely impressed by how Morata has started his Chelsea career and the former midfielder is expecting more from the forward in the coming weeks and months.

Speaking on BT Sport on Wednesday night, Lampard said: “His positioning in the box is great.

“He finds space in between defenders. He does it time and time again and that’s his own intelligence. And he’s very clinical in front of goal.

“He’s started brilliantly and I think there’s a lot more to come from him.”

Morata will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Saturday evening with a crunch clash against leaders Manchester City.

A win for Chelsea would move them level on points with Pep Guardiola’s men heading into the international break.
