Thierry Henry believes that Alvaro Morata finally has the chance to make Chelsea “his team” following his move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The 24-year-old Spaniard has hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge since his switch to the west London side from Real Madrid, and has earned plenty of praise for the fast start he has made.

Morata has scored six goals and made two assists in six Premier League games to help the west London side up into third place in the table.

The Spain international has been in superb form so far this term despite some questioning how quickly it would take him to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League.

Morata struggled to hold down a regular spot at Real Madrid last season after returning from a two-year spell at Juventus.

Now, Henry feels that the striker has the perfect platform for him to establish himself as the main man in one of Europe’s top teams.

Speaking on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, Henry said: “Morata, more often than not, came off the bench for Real Madrid and when he was at Juventus he had a good year but playing with Carlos Tevez or Fernando Llorente that wasn’t his team.

“He’s trying to make Chelsea his team just like Romelu Lukaku is trying to make United his team.”

Morata will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues take on Manchester City in their next Premier League game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues are currently third in the table.
