Thibaut Courtois has admitted that he has been thrilled by the start to life Alvaro Morata has made at Chelsea.

The 24-year-old striker was once again in top form for Antonio Conte’s men on Saturday as he netted a hat-trick to fire the Blues to a 4-0 victory over Stoke.

Morata appears to have shown no problems in adapting to life in the Premier League following his transfer from Real Madrid back in July.

The striker has already hit six goals in six Premier League games for Conte’s side to help the west London team move up to third place in the table.

And Courtois has been delighted by the impact Morata has had at Stamford Bridge since signing for the Blues in the summer.

Courtois is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard: “We know Alvaro is a top striker, we know he has ability and I am very happy for him that he scored a hat-trick. It’s good for him and all of the team, Stoke away is a very hard game.

“Last year we won here in the last minute, Arsenal lost here this season, Manchester United struggled here too. So to score four goals, we must be pleased.

“But it’s not just his hat-trick against Stoke, he has been scoring from the beginning. He is feeling good, strikers always do when they’re scoring. He has scored a few important ones for us already.”

Both Courtois and Morata will be hoping to start for Chelsea when the Blues return to Champions League action on Wednesday night with a crunch clash against Atletico Madrid in Spain.

The west London side kicked off their Champions League campaign with an impressive 6-0 thrashing of Qarabag at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.

The Blues will then travel to Newcastle United in their next Premier League game on Sunday afternoon.
