Alvaro Morata has taken to social media to congratulate his Chelsea team-mates on their 5-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in the League Cup on Wednesday night.

Michy Batshuayi hit a hat-trick as Antonio Conte’s men impressed in west London to book their place in the fourth round of the tournament.

Goals from Kenedy and Charly Musonda completed the rout as the west London side secured their place in the next round, with a clash against Everton at Stamford Bridge looming next month.

Morata was not involved as Conte opted to rotate his squad for the cup clash, but the Spain international was clearly delighted to see his team progress through to the next round.

The striker posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Good job guys!! 🔵⚽️🔵”

Morata will be expecting to be back in action for the west London side when they take on Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues are aiming to return to winning ways in the top flight after having fired a blank against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge last weekend to leave them in third place after five games.

Chelsea will then turn their attentions towards their crunch Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid next Wednesday night.
