Nevin: Chelsea signing is absolutely quality, he’s the perfect player
Pat Nevin discusses Alvaro Morata and the potential he has to develop into a top striker at Chelsea

Pat Nevin has lavished praise on Alvaro Morata following his start to life as a Chelsea player.
The 24-year-old signed for the Blues from Real Madrid back in July as Antonio Conte moved quickly to bolster his attacking options at Stamford Bridge.
Morata will be expected to help to fill the void left by Diego Costa in west London after the Spanish striker completed his move to Atletico Madrid last week.
The Spain international has already earned praise for the solid start he has made to his career at Chelsea since his switch to Stamford Bridge.
And despite Costa’s exit, former Chelsea man Nevin believes that Morata has more than enough quality to replace his fellow Spain international at the west London club.
Speaking on BBC Radio Five live on Thursday night, Nevin said: “I have seen enough of Morata [to think he can replace Costa’s goals].
“He is absolute quality. Technically he is a better player. I’m not saying he is better in all aspects. He might not have the aggressiveness of Costa.
“[But] his movement is up there in the world’s top 10. With Pedro, Fabregas, Willian and Hazard, Morata is the perfect player.
“He is a better technical player and younger – Chelsea fans are probably less upset than people think.”
Morata will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Champions League action on Wednesday night with a trip to Atletico Madrid.
The west London side kicked off their Champions League campaign with an impressive 6-0 thrashing of Qarabag at Stamford Bridge earlier this month, but Atletico are poised to present an altogether more difficult challenge.
Chelsea won the Premier League title in Conte’s first campaign at the club last season.
