Michy Batshuayi has taken to social media to wish Diego Costa all the best after his move from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid was confirmed on Thursday.

Chelsea confirmed on Thursday that they had reached an agreement with Atletico to sell the striker the Spanish club in the January transfer window.

The Brazilian’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months after it became clear that he wasn’t part of Antonio Conte’s plans for this season.

Costa has not returned to Chelsea after his summer break and his move back to Atletico was finally confirmed this week.

Batshuayi played alongside Costa for one season as the Blues won the Premier League title under Conte last term.

And the Belgian striker had a message for Costa after his Chelsea exit was confirmed.

Batshuayi posted the following message on Twitter: “A great striker and always a support when I arrived at @ChelseaFC

“Thanks for everything Crazy @diegocosta 😂 & good luck for the future.”

Chelsea are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

Batshuayi will be hoping to feature for the west London side after having scored a hat-trick in the 5-1 win over Nottingham Forest in the League Cup at Stamford Bridge in midweek.

Chelsea head into this weekend’s round of fixture in third place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and defend their title.
