Antonio Conte replies when asked if key Chelsea attacker is 100 per cent fit
The Chelsea manager admits Eden Hazard still isn't at full fitness despite his return at Leicester City
Antonio Conte has admitted that Eden Hazard still isn’t 100 per cent fit as the Chelsea forward works on his return from an ankle injury.
The Blues star made his return from a broken ankle in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Hazard was a second-half replacement for Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas at the King Power Stadium after goals from N’Golo Kante and Alvaro Morata.
The 26-year-old forward played a key role in helping Chelsea to win their second Premier League title in three seasons and first under Antonio Conte.
Hazard netted 16 times and made seven assists to help the west London side to win the top-flight crown with two games to spare.
While the Belgian forward made his comeback from injury, the Chelsea boss revealed the Blues number 10 is still working on a return to full fitness.
“This is good news for us,” Conte told his post-match media conference.
“For sure he needs time to be 100 per cent but for us his recovery is very important.”
Chelsea have won three of their four Premier League games after starting the defence of their title with a 3-2 loss to Burnley.
The Blues are looking to become the first Premier League team to defend their top-flight crown since 2013.
The west London side will take on Qarabag in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
