Glenn Hoddle believes that Chelsea now look like defending Premier League champions after making a sloppy start to the new season under Antonio Conte.

The Blues lost the Community Shield to Arsenal back in August and then were beaten 3-2 by Burnley in their Premier League opener as they struggled for form early on.

However, Chelsea have bounced back to form in recent weeks and have won their last three Premier League games to help them up to third place in the table.

The west London side also got their Champions League group-stage campaign off to a flyer by thrashing Qarabag 6-0 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

And former England manager Hoddle believes that Antonio Conte’s men now look like they have found their feet after a stuttering start to the new campaign.

Speaking on BT Sport on Tuesday night, Hoddle said: “They do look like champions again. Conte’s got them back playing again.

“I don’t think the transfer window did them any good whatsoever. They were at sixes and sevens, I don’t think he [Conte] was a happy bunny.

“But everything has settled down and they’ve kept the same system.”

Chelsea are now preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The west London side head into the game looking to continue their good form and gain revenge over the Gunners, who have beaten them in the FA Cup final and the Community Shield in recent months.

Arsenal, meanwhile, were 3-0 winners over Bournemouth last weekend.
