Andriy Shevchenko is tipping Chelsea to retain their Premier League title under Antonio Conte this season.

The west London side continued their strong start to the new campaign when they secured a thumping 4-0 victory over Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday.

Alvaro Morata hit an impressive hat-trick for Conte’s men as Pedro Rodriguez also found the net to move the Blues up to third place in the Premier League table.

Conte’s side earned plenty of praise last season as they won the title in the Italian manager’s first campaign in charge at the club.

However, Chelsea did not have the distraction of European football last season as they were able to focus purely on domestic affairs.

Nevertheless, former Chelsea star Shevchenko is tipping the west London side to finish top of the table once again this time around.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Shevchenko said: “I know for sure Antonio Conte knows what he is doing, he’s done a great job.

“Chelsea are a great club and I’m sure they will follow the same road as last season to win the title.”

Chelsea return to Champions League action on Wednesday night when they travel to Spain to take on Atletico Madrid.

The Blues, who have won the Premier League for two of the last three seasons, kicked off their Champions League campaign with an impressive 6-0 thrashing of Qarabag at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.
