Pat Nevin believes that Alvaro Morata is an “almost perfect” striker following his strong start to his first season at Chelsea.

The 24-year-old forward has quickly adapted to the rigours of the Premier League following his transfer to the west London club from Real Madrid back in July.

Morata scored his first hat-trick for the Blues on Saturday afternoon as he helped to fire Chelsea to a 4-0 victory over Stoke in the Premier League.

The forward has now scored six goals in his first six games for the west London side and looks like he will be a force to be reckoned with up front this season.

And former Chelsea winger Nevin has been extremely impressed by what he has seen from Morata in a Blues shirt so far this season.

Nevin wrote in his column for Chelsea’s website: “He is almost perfect in his technique as a striker and I make no apology for going on about it.

“If you are a young kid wanting to play that position, do not look any further than him if you want to know exactly the right times and places to move to.

“If you want to learn how to hold up the ball, link up play, know how to go long then short to get involved, or the precise opposite to lose a marker, he is your man.”

Chelsea return to Champions League action on Wednesday night when they take on Spanish side Atletico Madrid away from home.

The Blues kicked off their European campaign with an impressive 6-0 thrashing of Qarabag at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.

Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League table and three points behind joint leaders Manchester United and Manchester City.
