Fernando Torres believes that Alvaro Morata is poised to enjoy a hugely successful career at Chelsea.

Torres knows a thing or two about leading the line at Stamford Bridge after his spell at the west London club between 2011 and 2015.

Morata joined Chelsea from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window and has hit the ground running in the Premier League for Antonio Conte’s men.

The 24-year-old Spaniard has netted six goals and made two assists in six Premier League games for the Blues to help them up to third place in the table.

There had been question marks about how Morata was going to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League but it seems that he has had no problems getting used to life in England.

And fellow Spaniard Torres is tipping Morata to enjoy a very successful career at Stamford Bridge.

Torres told a news conference before Chelsea’s clash with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night: “I spoke with him (Morata) before he joined Chelsea and told him I would be always on the phone if he needed any advice or if I could help him.

“Looking at the start he has made it doesn’t look like he needs any advice at all – already he is playing well and scoring goals.

“Chelsea have one of the best strikers in Europe – and I am sure he is going to win trophies with them.”

Morata will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Saturday evening with a crunch clash against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are currently third in the table and know that victory over Pep Guardiola’s men would move them level on points with the Citizens.
