Craig Bellamy is tipping Chelsea and Manchester City to play out a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in the crunch Premier League clash on Saturday evening.

Both teams head into the game in good form, with the stage set for a fascinating encounter in west London.

Chelsea were impressive 2-1 winners over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night as they came from a goal down to maintain their 100 per cent record in Europe this season.

The west London side also thrashed Stoke City 4-0 in their most recent Premier League outing last weekend as Antonio Conte’s men moved up to third place in the table.

Manchester City have been the Premier League’s top team this season, and the Citizens are currently top of the table as they look to win the title under Pep Guardiola.

However, former Wales international Bellamy is tipping the two sides to share the spoils in west London on Saturday evening.

Speaking to Paddy Power, Bellamy said: “Conte’s outfit are capable of making a statement with a victory Saturday, even if it’s not essential that they have too. They’ll expect to make one though, it’s part of what they are as a football club.

“Chelsea are league champions at the end of the day and they won’t be giving up this title without a fight. It’s going to be a tight game and I see a 1-1 draw coming on Saturday.

“If City could get a win it would be incredible and it would be a massive statement to the rest of the league. I can see the home side getting something out of it though because of the quality in their squad.

“It’s definitely the game of the weekend and will be Man City’s biggest test so far this season.”

Chelsea are aiming to defend their Premier League title this season after their impressive triumph in Conte’s first campaign in charge last term.

The west London side have won the Premier League in two of the last three campaigns.
