Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Huddersfield v Tottenham
Mark Lawrenson looks ahead to Tottenham's trip to Huddersfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon
Mark Lawrenson is backing Tottenham to continue their good form with a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.
Spurs head into the game in fourth place in the Premier League table after their victory against bitter rivals West Ham United last weekend.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are currently five points behind leaders Manchester City after six games of the new campaign as they look to try and mount a serious title challenge again this season.
Huddersfield has been in good form since their promotion to the Premier League and they have taken nine points from their opening six games to leave them in eighth place.
However, former Liverpool star Lawrenson is backing Tottenham to have too much for Huddersfield and is tipping the north London side to secure a comfortable victory.
Writing in his weekly column for BBC Sport, former defender Lawrenson said: “Huddersfield picked up another decent point last week against Burnley, but it has been a while since they won in the Premier League, which is obviously a concern.
“The Terriers are still unbeaten at home this season, but I don’t think that will be the case for much longer.
“At the moment, Tottenham are probably stronger on the road than they are at Wembley – and after wins at West Ham and Apoel Nicosia I think they will make it three away wins in seven days.”
Tottenham were Chelsea’s closest challengers for the Premier League title last season as they ended up second in the table, behind Antonio Conte’s champions.
The Lilywhites were 3-0 winners over Apoel Nicosia in the Champions League in midweek to follow up their thrilling 3-2 victory over Spurs at the London Stadium last weekend.
