Ronaldinho has told Liverpool fans that Philippe Coutinho will give his all for the Reds this season despite his failed move to Barcelona.

The 25-year-old playmaker was heavily linked with a transfer to Camp Nou during the summer window but a move failed to materialise as Liverpool refused to sell their prized asset.

Coutinho was believed to be desperate to join Barcelona and is widely reported to have handed in a transfer request at Anfield towards the end of the window.

However, after the move failed to materialise, Coutinho will have to knuckle down and focus on Liverpool affairs as he bids to help Jurgen Klopp’s team challenge for the title this season.

And former Brazil international Ronaldinho is certain that the attacker will deliver when called upon by Klopp this season.

Ronaldinho is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror: “This season they will see him give everything for the club – that is the sort of player he is.

“Also no player is going to refuse to play when it’s the World Cup at the end of the season.

“The Liverpool fans have nothing to worry about – I do not believe any of the stories about him refusing to play for the club. I know him that is not his way.”

Coutinho could make his first Premier League appearance of the season for Liverpool when the Reds take on Manchester City at The Etihad on Saturday afternoon.
