Frank Lampard believes Liverpool are the best team in the Premier League when it comes to flooding the opposition half with players on the break.

The Reds have been heavily criticised for their poor defending so far this season after conceding 14 times in eight games in the Premier League.

However, Liverpool have been entertaining going forward after bolstering their attacking options with the signing of Mohamed Salah from AS Roma.

The Merseyside outfit have already scored 17 times in all competitions, including a resounding 4-0 victory over Arsenal at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has been heavily criticised for failing to invest in new defenders during the summer transfer window.

But Chelsea legend Lampard provided some welcome relief from the defensive criticism with some kind words about Liverpool’s attack.

“They do it [flow forwards] better than anyone. They move everyone forward. When quick players play and run, it’s very hard to defend against,” Lampard told BT Sport.

Liverpool drew 2-2 with Sevilla in their opening Champions League group-stage game at Anfield last week.

The Reds will make the trip to Leicester City in their next Premier League game at the King Power Stadium.

The Merseyside outfit signed four players in the summer transfer window, including Hull City left-back Andy Robertson, Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke and Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Liverpool have also agreed a £48m deal to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig next summer.
