Paul Merson: 24-year-old will definitely not start for Liverpool FC at Man City
Paul Merson is not expecting to see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain start for Liverpool FC at Manchester City on Saturday

Paul Merson says he cannot see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain featuring from the start for Liverpool in their Premier League clash with Manchester City on Saturday.
The 24-year-old joined the Reds from Arsenal on transfer deadline day last week after the Gunners opted to sell the midfielder to their Premier League rivals.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s final appearance for Arsenal came in the 4-0 thrashing by Liverpool at Anfield before the international break.
The England star has linked up with his new team-mates for the first time this week and will be hoping to feature against Pep Guardiola’s men at The Etihad.
However, Merson says that he cannot see how Oxlade-Chamberlain would fit into the side for the Reds this weekend.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said: “Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping to make his Liverpool debut but with England captain Jordan Henderson and Emre Can, who I’m a big fan off, set to play I don’t see him getting a game.
“That’s unless he plays out of position but I thought he went to Liverpool to play in central midfield, no?”
Liverpool are aiming to win the Premier League title this season after Jurgen Klopp’s men finished in fourth place in the table last term.
The Reds are set to make a return to the Champions League group stage next week.
