Jurgen Klopp delivers the latest update on Adam Lallana's recovery from a thigh injury for Liverpool FC
Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Adam Lallana could be back in action for Liverpool next month following his lay-off due to injury.
The 29-year-old midfielder has been struggling with a thigh injury in recent weeks and has not featured for Liverpool yet so far this season.
Lallana is regarded as a key player for the Reds and Klopp will be anxious to welcoming the England star back to the fold as soon as possible.
And the Liverpool manager has now revealed that Lallana could be set to make a return to action for the Merseyside outfit as soon as next month.
Speaking at his post-match news conference after Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Burnley in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday Klopp said: “Adam made the Champions League squad because it was a moment when we had to think about these things and the medical department told me that in around about six weeks he should be back.
“That was around August 31. So it should be about another four weeks before he’s normal training. It looks all on the right way for him.”
Liverpool dropped points for the second successive game in the Premier League on Saturday as they were held to a frustrating draw by the Clarets at Anfield.
The Reds are now preparing for their double header against Leicester City – in the League Cup in midweek and the Premier League next weekend.
Liverpool are aiming to build on their fourth-placed finish in the Premier League table last season under Klopp, as they secured Champions League qualification.
