The England midfielder joined the Reds from Premier League rivals Arsenal back in August after the Gunners opted to let the 24-year-old move to Anfield.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been made to wait for his first-team opportunities by Jurgen Klopp so far, with the midfielder only starting his first game of the season in the 2-0 loss to Leicester City in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
The midfielder failed to make his mark on the game as Liverpool slumped to a disappointing defeat by the Foxes.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is yet to start a Premier League game for Liverpool since his switch from Arsenal on deadline day last month.
And former Everton man Osman has warned the midfielder that he has plenty of work to do if he wants to get back into the first team at Anfield.
Osman told Sky Sports: “He needs to improve his performances to get into the first team.
“The team Liverpool put out in the first three weeks [of the season], he wouldn’t get into the team.”
Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping to feature for Liverpool when the Reds take on Leicester City once again in their Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium on Saturday night.
The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley at Anfield last weekend.
