Rio Ferdinand admits Liverpool FC have produce a ‘miracle’
Rio Ferdinand gushes with praise for Philippe Coutinho after his display for Liverpool FC against Leicester

Rio Ferdinand has admitted that Liverpool have produced a “miracle” by keeping hold of Philippe Coutinho beyond the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian was relentlessly linked with a transfer to Barcelona over the summer but Liverpool held firm and refused to sell the playmaker, despite the midfielder handing in a transfer request.
Coutinho proved his importance to Liverpool on Saturday when he produced a man of the match display to help Jurgen Klopp’s men notch up a 3-2 win at Leicester in the Premier League.
The attacker scored one and set up one to help Klopp’s side claim victory and move up to fifth place in the Premier League table.
And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand has praised the Reds for being able to keep hold of their talismanic forward.
Speaking on BT Sport after the game on Saturday, Ferdinand said: “I think Liverpool have produced a miracle in keeping him, considering what was on offer in terms of the fee and his personal terms.
“He will produce moments that inspire stadiums. He does things that take your breath away. He’s fantastic to watch.”
Liverpool now turn their attentions back towards Champions League affairs and their trip to Russia to take on Spartak Moscow on Tuesday night.
The Reds kicked off their European campaign with a 2-2 draw with Spanish side Sevilla at Anfield earlier this month.
Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League table in Klopp’s first full campaign in charge at Anfield last season.
