Rio Ferdinand sends clear message to Liverpool FC boss about 24-year-old
Rio Ferdinand discusses Loris Karius's performance for Liverpool FC against Spartak Moscow

Rio Ferdinand has criticised Loris Karius for his performance in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Spartak Moscow in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The 24-year-old German goalkeeper was considered to be at fault for the Russian side’s opening goal as Fernando netted with a 25-yard free-kick.
Neither Karius nor Simon Mignolet have been particularly impressive between the posts for Liverpool this season and Jurgen Klopp has been switching between the two shot-stoppers this term.
However, former Manchester United defender Ferdinand felt that Karius was clearly to blame for Spartak’s opening goal on Tuesday night.
Speaking on BT Sport after the game, Ferdinand said: “If I’m in that team, I’m turning around and I’m fuming. I’d be asking Karius what’s going on.
“You expect you’re goalkeeper to save the ball. It isn’t even in the corner. That’s where the frustration would lie.”
Liverpool will now switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their trip to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds, who have two points from their opening two Champions League games, are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table after having beaten Leicester City 3-2 in thrilling fashion last weekend at the King Power Stadium.
Liverpool are aiming to improve on their fourth-placed finish in the Premier League under Klopp last season as the German coach guided them to Champions League qualification in his first full campaign at the club.
